The 5L uses five layers of material (plastic coating, cloth, soft polyisoprene, hard plastic, rubber elements) to produce durability and reliability. The top cloth with plastic coating gives a smooth gliding surface, the inner plastics make the pad strong, and the rubber base makes it slip proof. The 5L is fully compatible with both laser and optical mice.
