Panther37: #sony_handycam_dcr_hc21_mini_dv This is really my first camcorder. For the price it seems pretty good. The picture quality isn't AMAZING and it degrades a little at low light but all camcorders around this price will anyways. The Nightshot option is nice even though it's just an infrared illumination. It works pretty well though. I can actually tell the microphone is stereo even though they are right next to each other.  The touchscreen controls are REALLY nice though. It's easy to use but still has powerful options. The software it comes with really sucks and should be installed. Don't capture the video through the USB either. Video capture on IEEE 1394 FireWire is perfect though. I would suggest obtaining Sony Vegas and DVD Architect to go along with the camera for powerful but easy editing. I would defiantly buy this again. Dec 15, 06
