jonesgirl: #shea_butter_sugar_scrub I'm glad you asked! Shea Butter does indeed have a fairly low melt point, about 95 degrees farenheight, but when it is mixed with other ingredients at a higher melting point it won't liquefy until you rinse it off.

Our Shea Butter Sugar Scrub is formulated with several other oils including jojoba, coconut, and rice bran oil. We specifically formulated this product to rinse clean, but leave your skin soft without a greasy feel. The texture of the sugar or salts we use in our scrubs is mildly abrasive, but then that's the point of exfoliation. Scrubs are meant to slough off the dead, dull skin cells left on your skin. They help refine skin texture and appearance.

KD1964: #shea_butter_sugar_scrub What are the precious oils that sink "deep" into the skin to soften and moisturize? Why is it made with Shea butter? I have shea butter as a lotion and have found it to be the texture of butter when I slather it on my body. In addition, shea butter is known to have a low melting point, which means that when it is applied to the body it liquifies, which makes me think that it leaves an oily film on my body. I know that it is good for moisturizing the skin, but how can you do that if you are washing it off as a body scrub? I never have used a sugar scrub before, but i don't want to buy one without being fully informed. This sugar scrub makes me think of rubbing sand paper on my body to slough off the dead skin.
