Red Stripe is a Jamaican beer mostly recognized by it's short beer bottle and diagonal red stripe on the packaging. Red Stripe was first brewed in 1928 as a thicker darker ale when compared to the lighter form that you see today.

It has an alcohol content of 4.7% and is available internationally. 

In recent years Red Stripe Light has become more popular. It's brewed and bottled in Jamaica but distributed by Guinness in Stamford, Connecticut.
