Pioneer VSX-D498
$379.99
Released January, 2011
The Pros:Sound output is clear and crisp, detail is well represented. Separates 5.1 sound really well so that each channel is distinct, creates a great surround effect. Enough power output for a small to medium sized room.
The Cons:Doesn't have the heavy-duty components typically found even in mid-grade receivers. Not enough power to drive higher end speakers or fill a larger room with sound. No HDMI ports for input or output.
