#mcintosh_mission_coffee_table Haha. Very good point, GT-D. I'm picturing some late-comers arriving to a party already in progress and awkwardly pulling out the "extra" seating from the coffee table and sitting down. All of the conversations end, and all eyes are on the new guests. No thanks.

#mcintosh_mission_coffee_table hmm, coffee tables usually go in the center of the room as far as I know... this being the case, having pull out seats on either side isn't the most useful, unless you're having a huge party it's going to be some uncomfortable seating, physically and socially (sitting in the middle of the room)... maybe use it in a hall or entryway for putting on shoes and such.
Just don't see it as a 'coffee table'. If its up against a wall it can't be a side table either, as you need space either side to pull out the seats.
