Intel Core i5-2300
$204.75
Released January, 2011
The Pros:Good performance for the price. LGA 1155 socket has the most promising upgrade path of Intel's new socket types. Fan is perfectly adequate for keeping the CPU cool.
The Cons:The unlocked 2500k can be bought for only ~$40 more. Included fan's cheap plastic motherboard pins make it hard to remove. On-die graphics can't compete with AMD's S-series APUs' graphics capabilities.
