The Cons:Expensive.
This matted balm is the best thing you can invest in as far as make up goes. With my experience, you can use less foundation because this stuff makes it stay on all day. Also, if you have oily skin, it's OK, this stuff almost sucks the oil out.

But still, if you're worried, I know Smashbox makes the same thing but water based.
